The Bottom Line

Having written this post, I now feel the need to add this rant warning at the top. There's swearing too.

So there I was watching Newsnight when I heard a bare faced lie. Clear as you like. Not a hint of shame from the guilty party. That guilty party was someone called Pippa Malmgren, a former adviser to President Bush. You can view it here (click Latest programme link) till about 11pm, 7th Sept. The lie is just over 12 minutes into the broadcast.

Y'see, it wasn't the President's fault that the federal response was a national disgrace. He wanted to help. He begged to help. But that stupid Democrat governor just wouldn't see sense. She refused Bush's anguished cries to let him help the poor people of Louisiana...

Fuck off, you miserable lying excuse for a human being.

Governor Blanco asked for a federal emergency to be declared on the 26th August. The President duly obliged.
The President today declared an emergency exists in the State of Louisiana and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts in the parishes located in the path of Hurricane Katrina beginning on August 26, 2005, and continuing. The President's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures... [my emphasis].
Whitehouse website, 27th August 2005.
The buck cannot be passed, you odious snakes. Readers may understand why my languange is intemperate when I see disgusting apologists using outright lies in an attempt to shift the blame off their man. Their man has many needless deaths on his grossly incompetant and uncaring hands. It would have been illegal to send in federal troops? Fuck off, liar.

So the bottom line is that the Whitehouse is defending itself with a downright dirty, morally repugnant, totally blatant lie. Their own website confirms the truth but they would rather we believe the lie. And it looks like their lackeys are going to keep on pushing the lie in spite of the evidence. Why? Because they've got fuck all else, that's why. Sometimes the truth hurts.

It's already clear that the Bush administration has been woefully negligent in their response to the crisis. And what is their strategy to deal with the fact that the whole world has noticed their inadequacy? Their strategy is to use a lie to deliberately smear the Governor of a State which has just been virtually destroyed. Is there a human being left among them at all? Fucking pricks.

To cap it all, Bush is going to lead an investigation into his own administrations failings. It really would be funny if it wasn't so fucking disgusting.

Update
I decided to send a message to Newsnight. I politely requested that in a future programme they ought to make clear the fact that Ms Malmgren's allegation was entirely spurious. What you do is up to you though.
