The speech David Davis made to the Tory Pary conference yesterday was not well received. This morning's newpapers will probably be picking over the significance of the lack of positive reaction to the speech. Well, I can save you the bother of reading all that dullness. I can say catagorically that David Davis' political career is basically at an end. On Newsnight last night a Tory party member said Davis' performance was like "Iain Duncan Smith with hair". It's all over.
I'm not saying he won't still become leader of the Conservative Party, that might still happen. His political career is over though.
