The Party

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--for ever.

OK, that's my last 1984 quotation for a while. Honestly. But this one is especially for Gordon Brown. Just when we thought we might at last be close to getting rid of the Blair, Brown confirms what we've all feared: He's just Blair in a bigger, more Scottish body. Can you feel the boot on your face? Can you smell the leather and the rubber and the sweat?

Most people who consider themselves to have any sort of left wing views would say that Blairbrown doesn't. It is now abundantly clear that Blairbrown is quite keen on Soviet style totalitarianism though.

It's got the party chairman warning members that they absolutely must vote for the good of the Blairbrown party because what's good for the Blairbrown party is what's good for the country. It's also got a good line going in oppressing all legitimate domestic dissent to the policies of the Blairbrown. If only Uncle Jo was still with us (via*). He would have been so proud.

There are troubled times ahead. I feel it in my bones.

* That via post is definitely worth reading and may be linked again if I find the time to write about ID cards before the vote. If you're an MP (hugely unlikely though that may be), read it now!
